Paul, the important thing is to observe the polarity of your car.  If the
battery is connected positive ground, then the "+" terminal goes to the
points.

Be aware that most commonly available coils require an external ballast
resistor.   If your new coil was not sold specifically for a TR2-4, you
should check whether it requires an external ballast or not.  Failing to use
a ballast where required can lead to rapid point failure, and possibly
damage the coil itself.

You may need to change the coil high tension wire as well.  Don't try to mix
a screw-in connection with a push-in, as this will lead to problems later.
