Depends. What's "best", where is it going, etc ?

If cost is no object and it's entirely within the US, then crate it up and
have UPS deliver it. If you're careful with crate construction, it will
just meet their guidelines for maximum size, but it still won't be cheap.

If you don't need door-to-door and there are terminals in the area, I've
have good luck with Forward Air. Shipped a whole pallet of car parts (about
600 pounds) from Houston to Los Angeles for about $230. But they will want
a pallet or something that can be handled by a forklift, and you'll have to
either deliver and pickup from the terminals, or pay extra for door-to-door.

Many companies throw away serviceable pallets ... try cruising the alleys in
the local industrial district and you'll probably pick one up. A TRanny
will just about fit diagonally on a standard pallet. Strap it down, and ask
the folks at FA to wrap it in plastic for you.
