Thanks Ron:

Sigh, in the search for Triumph purity I am doing my best to re-insert
these things. Last year I bought those ABS covers for under the dash and
am now engaged in the highly pleasurable task of figuring out how to
install them. It appears that they are clamped in by the under dash
support bars. Alas, I haven't seen those in years. So now beginning a
search. Do those lower eyeballs point straight down? Both my car's units
point in different directions. The clamps have been straightened or bent
over the years so they do not point at the floor, but more forward.
However the dash covers seem to indicate that they should poke through
straight down.

If you are running with the top down, close your heating vents and close
the dash "Eye balls". The open "Eyeballs" under the dash will then
deliver more air to keep your legs cooler.
