   The Monza system is considered by many folks to be pretty loud. It's sort 
of a matter of personal taste. I'd suggest you tell Sharon to check around if 
there is a Triumph club in her area and try to get a listen to one on a car, 
before deciding to buy it. Because the Monza systems are so widely available 
and are about the least expensive, almost every Triumph club seems to have one 
or two or more cars with the system installed. 
   Some say the Monza is pretty short-lived, too, but that might be due in 
part to some other factors (see below).
   The Falcon system actually comes in two flavors: sport and standard. The 
sport system is slightly oversize and has a single muffler, all for improved 
flow. It's a bit louder, of course. The sport system is probably best matched 
to 
a header, too. 
   Another thing to consider is how the car is used. If it's a daily driver, 
the mild steel Monza system might hold up just fine for quite a few years. 
Daily use dries out the exhaust pipes, blows out corrosives left behind by the 
exhaust and actually helps prevent deterioration. 
   If the car is only occasionally used, stainless steel would usually be a 
better choice. It will hold up well against internal condensation, corrosives 
found in exahust gases and general humidity where a mild steel system would rot 
out quickly. Of course, a key factor is the environment where the car is kept 
and used: both ambient humidity and temperatures, plus how the car is 
typically stored. 
   There are other exhaust systems out there, including a wide number of 
tuned choices from folks like Revington TR (www.revingtontr.com) and Cambridge 
Motorsport (www.cambridgemotorsport.com), both in England. Also, Sharon might 
talk with a local muffler shop about fabricating a system, which can give more 
optionis and sometimes is not a great deal different in cost, compared to the 
ready-made system kits.

Listers, Quick question from a TR lady wanting to make a choice
between a Monza or Falcon exhaust system for her 59 TR3.   I'll pass
on your welcomed and appreciated expertise.  Ted
Hello All!
I'm currently looking into a replacement exhaust system for my '59
TR3. The 2 that I've come across are Monza and Falcon. The Falcon
seems like a better product, being stainless and bolting directly to
the manifold. However, I'm not familiar with the brand. The Monza is
cheaper, but it requires me to cut the existing exhaust and weld the
new one to it. Any recomendations?
