Ibm surprised no one has referred in this thread to the Triumph TR 4 service
which has page 18 devoted to this subject.

You jack the front end under  the cross member between the wheels and put your
jack stands underneath each dise.

Rear end  it says bput trolley jack under the centre of the rear and place
chassis stands under chassis side members
rearward of the front suspension.b

Ibve always thought that meant uner the diff and thatbs what Ibve done
for mamy many years.

I always put stout wooden blocks between all jacking points and the chassis.

Donbforget to put a strong piece of plywood in the boot in case you have to
jack a wheel up on soft ground.
