Hi,

Ted was a member of the vintage race, Porsche, and maybe
wheeltowheel lists too (if you have not heard, Ted died instantly
of a heart attack in his trailer at a race last weekend).
I had conversed with him quite a lot, he came out to Lime Rock
last year for a vintage race with his Lotus I believe.
He had not been out here in a long time so wanted some help.
I explained how I drove the track and sent him a video.
Unfortunately I was not able to make the race and never met him.
After the race he told me that the video and explanation helped a lot.

For an idea of his enthusiasm, Ted wrote to me :

>> Mike: That'd be great......ran the Vette in the preHistorics this
weekend...some very cool Porsches there including the Sonoco Mark Donahue,
1300+ hp can ammmer....accellerates like it was shot outta a
cannon...............Porsche is going all out at the Historics and will
probably move the show to WG for the fifty. Quite a display unit was being
assembled. Since it was all built elsewhere and trucked in I assume they'll
 truck it to the Glen......

Local knowledge rules......they mixed the C/P 911s and some Spyders in with
the B/P boys this weekend and we ate 'em up. Laguna is a pretty tight
circuit and the local Pclub vintage 911s can keep up pretty well. Most of
the Porsche group was from outta town and the local B/P Vettes and Mustangs
dominated by 4-5 secs./lap...thanks again for the video..... <<

Ted will surely be missed!
