Two random thoughts on recent subjects:

A few people have commented on corner worker appreciation ... whenever I see
a worker in the lunch line, I try to buy him/her lunch (if the organizers
haven't paid for it already). The $5 racetrack hamburger they consume is a
bargain, considering what they do for me. It's something we can all do as
participants, that doesn't require a board meeting of the organizing club to
authorize.

Unrelated note ... someone asked about fire systems in lieu of a hand-held
extinguisher. For what it's worth, I recommend carrying BOTH in the car.
Fire systems are great & highly recommended, but there are times when you
really need a hand-held extinguisher -- like a small fire in the paddock
outside your car, or a fire in an area of your car that isn't reached by the
installed system, or you need to help rescue a fellow competitor whose car
is on fire. So I hope everyone will consider carrying a hand-held unit in
addition to their installed system, just in case I'm the guy that's on fire
next time.

Also a good idea to carry a big 'un in the tow vehicle or trailer.
