To add to Dave's excellent comments: a set of water pump pliers (Channelock) will also work, sometimes. Make sure you're only grabbing the metal base of the bump stop - otherwise you'll just twist of

And...above all....use anti-seize lube on them when reinstalling! They don't have to be super tight! Larry M
