Merry Christmas List, I have seen this tread before, but have forgotten the answer, so please indulge me as I can't wait to get my engine on the engine stand I received for Christmas. The question is

John--Since you are not removing the crank, mount the stand directly to the engine back plate. If it won't reach, you can always remove the flywheel. Dick Taylor

I agree with Dick. The holes on the block are closer together than Chevy small blocks and such that the stands are designed for. I had a difficult time lining up the holes to the stand to the ones on

I have my 4A engine on a generic stand, mounted by the back of the block. It took some fudging around to get it to fit, but it does. Rather than try to explain it, if anyone wants to see a pic e-mail
