- How much you have to take apart on the trunnion depends on what the trouble is. The usual failure on a Spitfire/GT-6 trunnion is the Delrin (or some such plastic) bushings where the lower control arm

- Haynes is strictly correct for once. However, if you don't mind bending the brake disk back plate slightly it is very easy to just simply undo the trunnion and damper lower bolts, take off the brake
