- Why would a fuel pump run constantly unless its electric? If the engine dies on a mechanical fp, so does the fuel pump.. Electric fuel pumps sometimes need pressure regulators. Sounds more like a bad

- Did you make sure the fuel filter was tight? I had the same problem and it was a loose fuel filter. The gasket dried out and the glass bowl was loose and there was no vacuum and the fuel never reache

- It's human nature to assume it's a fuel problem. It may well be so. As others have indicated, check the fuel filter for air leaks, the choke for function, and the fuel bowl needles. But don't ignore
