I think the parts guy's claim was that the hotter plug is beneficial for easier winter starting and faster warm up.. Since he had the hotter plug bassackwards, we can take his advice with a grain of

I reckon 8000 miles is pretty good for a set of plugs in a 2000. Time to change them At our Nationals here in June 99% of the cars were using NGK plugs. Most people run the BP6ES. I can't remember,
