- You are low on refrigerant more then likely. It was not uncommon for the ref. hoses to leak some, if it took 1 year or more and r12 was cheap it was not an issue. You will need to search out the leak

- No expert on these truck have had mine for some 2 whole days now. 1953 3100 AD I would suspect it is in the carborator. When it need lots of fuel at higher rpm it is ok and that would help to dismiss
