Hmmmmmmmm. Well here is my best guess for the moment, I would check the vacuum at Idle and then check the power valves on the carb you are using. The power valve should be 1 to 1.5 in Vacuum rated be

Mark if it turns out to be the guage regulator, Sunbeam Specialties sells them. I had to replace mine this year as well. It should be bolted to the dash stantion closest to the steering column. Also
