You can disasemble the air pump easily, then remove the carbon vanes, lube the bishings, and reassemble. It turns but it doesn't pump air. Just a small flywheel. But usually gets you thru inspection.

If you mean the pressure bypass pipe, it's a bent piece of about 3/8" pipe, vaguely S shaped, with a perpendicular fitting at the back end (a banjo fitting) with a large hollow bolt that attaches it

Didn't they used to sell ground straps that hung from maybe the rear axle to the road to discharge static? Used 'em on big gasoline haulers as I remember. If you could find 'em might they help? chuck
