I have 40's on my 12:1 AX TR6, and even there I had to reduce the choke tubes from 32mm to 30mm to get a reasonable idle and mid-band responsiveness. A purely street engine would probably like 28mm

end. I have an autocross TR-6 with triple SK's (Weber clone), good head and exhaust with about 12:1 CR. The SKs came with 32mm chokes and I tried many jet combinations to get it to run below 2000-25
