Mike, I believe the +8`s use automatic transmission fluid, as Nick typed Castrol TQF, one point I have to add, is that I believe the box is lubricated by a pump that is driven from the first motion

Hi There Brad, I was more interested in the chances of damaging the box under tow, than the actual lube, I do not generally favour the idea of using modern oils in old design mechanical applications.
