I was plagued with this early this year. Sump would fill with gas... Wasn't the pump, was actually a dirty needle valve in the carbs. I isolated it by pulling the bottom plugs from the strommies and

FWIW, I've had similar problems on other cars following an MC change. Swapping it out, new fluid etc can loosen some of the grunge that's in the brake line and it gets caught up and blocks the hoses
