I'm getting ready to pull my transmission once again. I've been getting a "clonking" noise when I disengage the clutch. I think it might be play in the fork that holds the clutch throw-out bearing.

Does anyone know if the seats from the 1973-76 model Spitfires are any different from the 1977-80 seats? I was wondering if the seat covers for the 1973-76 models would fit my 1979 Spitfire. Thanks,

It seems like I'm having just the opposite problem. When I push the clutch in the noise goes away. Its when I'm driving along in any gear at about 3500 RPM that the noise starts up? Regards, Ken W.

My transmission noise was caused by too much play in the clutch operating lever. I installed a new sleeve around the bolt that had been used instead of the correct pin that holds the operating lever
