Any time there's a marked drop in oil pressure and no knocking, I always remove the oil pressure relief valve and carefully clean out any metal particles or anything else that might serve to hold it

BMC/BMH Temp gauge and fuel gauge run off a "voltage stabilizer" thingy. Long periods of 12 volts will damage the gauges and also cause them to read high. The stabilizers can fail either always open
