A long time ago (~40 years) Triumph gear shifts rattled sorta like skeletons on a tin roof. The TR Factory Service Rep. told us to whack off a piece of garden hose and put it between the shift lever

Just as a sort point of interest, The local Subaru (sp?) here has a '76 TR6, Red, both tops and OD (I believe), that has never been titled. They were a TR dealer before the demise and kept this one.

Back in the dim past, TR2', 3's and maybe some 4's (can't remember on the 4's) had an adjustable arm from the slave cyl to the clutch release arm with a return spring. The rod was similar to the 6's

FWIW, rebuilt the clutch m/cyl a couple years ago. Used DOT 3 or 4 (don't remember) and the piston would would randomly stick in the cyl. Topped of with silicone fluid and no problems since. Go figge
