The original Sprite bonnet was hinged at the rear just like the MGB. Many people changed it to open ala Jag and 240Z so for the exact reasons of this discussion, servicing. Blake

Many Japanese starters are Nipondeso or Hitachi just like most British starters were Lucas. Thus it doesn't really make much difference which cars they come from as long as the adapter used correctly
