I've had this happen more than once. My last problem was with #3 not #4. I always add at least 0.001 to the recommended clearance. If I remember correctly, Wiseco recommends 0.003 for the 87mm and 0.

I may be misunderstanding this, but the whole idea of a torque plate is to get a cylindrical shape when the head is torqued. a repeatable measured shape with no pressure applied doesn't seem as impor
