I've decided I prefer a metal plate to a ballistic blanket. I don't have any passenger legs to protect, and the zone for ballistic protection seems limited enough to make a steel plate a practical so

I had taken a transmission to Diest Safety several years ago and had these SFI rated ballistic blankets made up. these are about 1/2 inch layered balistic nylon. They fit perfectly as they are cut to
