You are best to just get a complete used gearbox O/D unit and put that in. There are alot of them around and they aren't that expensive at the end of the day. The gearbox mainshafts on OD / non-OD m

I am pretty sure that BN4s, BN6s, and early BN7/BT7s came with a 4.1 rear end with overdrive and a 3.9 rear end w/o. I don't think they introduced the 3.5 rear end until the Mk1 came out sometime. A
