If you can't take up the slack in the shoes with the adjustors, you'll never get a firm pedal. Either adjust the adjustors further (if you can) or get thicker pads on the shoes. Alan -- Alan '52 A90

Some time ago it was mentioned on the list to put the hand brake on so the shoes or shoe is hard against the drum, then bleed the rears. Worked for me. Mark __________________________________________

I would suggest that a little diagnosis would be worth the trouble here. The master cylinder is only a very simple pump. As someone mentioned if the level in the reservoir rises as you push the pedal
