The cork seals for the H series carbs are supposed to be soaked in motor oil for 24 hours prior to assembly to prevent them from losing their seal after a few miles of use. If you use water they can

Yes, I soaked the cork seals in engine oil for 24 hours and double checked that the chamfered brass washers (above and below) were sited the right way round. Can I just check that, even though the f
