Hi Simon Don't quench in water or oil or anything. Quenching makes any metal go hard or brittle etc. To anneal just heat to cherry red and allow to cool in the ambient temperature. It will then becom

Quenching copper will not make copper hard and brittle as e.g. carbon steel would. I have used the method for years bending/shaping copper pipe and softening sealing washers. Kees Oudesluijs John Row
