- Use a press if at all possible. A C-clamp might work, but make sure the bush goes in straight. Soak the bush in warm oil for an hour or so before installing. No way I'd pound it in. You might break

- Thanks to everyone who offered help. I did get the bushing in with a C clamp and a home made mandrel -- it worked perfectly. In the process the bracket that holds one of the brushes was severely bent
