Yes, tread separation. It is usually no more than 1/4" and hard to detect, but really makes the car shake. I had the problem 14 yrs ago when I bought a used Healey and ran it for six months on tires

James, I have experienced a shimmy a couple of times that turned out to be a delaminating tire on the rear. It was a shimmy at slow speeds but turned into vibration at higher ones. In the first case,

For the Vredestiens, the sizes are 165x15 if you have stock rims, 185/70R15 if you have 5" or 5.5" rims. If you have stock rims, you can also go with Kumho that makes a cheap but decent quality 165x
