Hi Mark, Are you certain that the "friction point" is not in the center? Can you "feel" it? Is it possible that the steering wheel is not centered on the spline and that a previous owner moved it in

Changing the toe-in will affect the location of the "tight spot". There is no way to avoid this. Removing the tie rod ball joints won't change this. It would have the same affect as turning the cente

I think what you have is a "steering wheel" that is out of alignment. Remove the steering wheel from the shaft, turn it in the direction you want it, and put it back on. The shaft is splined so you c
