Were early 3000's frames ever painted black?- on a non black car? A 3000 on e-bay currently claims that the frame rails being painted black is correct? I have heard of some early frames being painted

Practically speaking this would not make sense since the substructure, which was welded to the chassis at Jensens, would (by default) need to be painted body color because of how the whole thing was
