- I have a Ridgid 14" saw. Bought used from CL in great shape. I don't have a ton of room for it, but bandsaws are pretty compact albeit tall. With one on wheels like the Ridgid, you can easily pull it

- Seconded on the Lenox blades. I have a Lennox Diemaster2 on my saw and for the price, it's hard to beat. To the original poster (sorry, I've since deleted that message): Sears tools are hit or miss.

- Keep in mind that a bandsaw blade is about 20x bigger than a jigsaw blade, so it will last maybe 20x longer. Also, the fact that it moves smoothly in only one direction makes it less likely to destro
