It was, in fact, the dizzy gear out 180. When I checked last night, it was not at TDC, #4 was at TDC so the dizzy gear was right side up. Tonight after a good hour and half sleep, I checked it again,

Don't know - is this is gear instead of a dog drive? or do you mean the distributor drive? Is it to prevent rust and seizing? Is it for better lubrication at very high rpm? Where do they get them fro

My experience with Hudsons was that bronze distributor gears can wear thin and shatter, sending metal bits all through the engine. I never considered that to be much of an advantage. I did, however,
