I use a spin on adaptor I bought on e-bay, but if you do a search on this board you will find people that sell them. For a oil filter I then use a WIX 51335 Filter, it's small and clears the headers

You could run the shorty, if you can find the source.B Another option would be to convert to the right angle adapter: B http :// www . tigersunited .com/resources/Dealer_Accessories/mp-FilterAdapter2

There are a number of shorter filters for the Ford block. Chrysler used the standard PH8A but also had a shorter PH43. Unfortunately that is still too long (as far as I know). There is also a very s

If you do want to go with the shorty filter, I would suggest checking on filter availability first. I used to run one on my 260 but was having a hard time finding the Fram filter that fit. I tried us

When I had headers on with the shorty filter I wrapped the filter in aluminum as a heat shield. The clearance was only about 1/16th". I gave up and removed the headers and went back to the stock mani

I think you will get some bad reports on the header wrap. Someone had the experience of oil leaking and soaking into the wrapped headers and catching fire. There was no way to put the fire out. Of c

Header heat wrap will reduce the temp, but will shorten the life of the headers. The heat over time changes the molecular structure of the steel, and it looks like rust, and they will eventually dete
