Why do you think its the head gasket that is causing the overheating? Do you have steam in the exhaust? coolant in the oil? If not, then the head is likely fine. You mentioned that the radiator doesn

Did you ever verify the temperature at which the thermostat is opening and if it is opening all the way? I would definitely pull the thermostat and place it in a pot of water on the stove with a can

Checking it with a thermometer is one of the first things I did. The coolant that starts to flow through the radiator is at 170°F. Also stuck the thermostat into a pan of water on the stove. It op
