Ok all you motor heads...... I just got my 59 283 back from the machine shop :) I had to bore 60 thousandths over, the crank had spun a bearing and could not be reused, no problem new steel crank kit

O.K. I see the block was bored .060 over and you have a new crankshaft. The main bearing caps all have the arrows pointing toward the front which is good. I'm sure you checked all the bearing to see

Thanks for all the advice, Here's what took place: Torqured all the Mains to 65ft-lbs. One by one, released torque to finger tight. Main #4 was the culprit. Called by machine shop, he had a new crank
