I just went to Chevy Duty to buy the bedwood installation manual. Someone told me that the 47-51 models had 9 boards and I checked some pics (not great ones)and it proved true. But, on the chevy duty

Everything I have read says that "Early 1951" had 9 boards and "Late 1951" had 8 boards. The changeover from 9 to 8 boards took place sometime during 1951. As to what point during the year, your gues

The only way to tell for sure is to check the number of holes drilled in the cross beams. By all accounts my '51 GMC should have had 9 boards, but the supports were drilled for 8. Can't rule out the
