Michael et al, The cabs and fenders are the same except for the differences you note - but there are some differences in the sheet metal that shrouds the radiator, and where the hood latch attaches.

The cabs are interchangeable between GMC and Chevy. If anything the GMC may have a slightly deeper firewall recess dimple for the larger engine but that's a plus. I say go for it. Hey, if they throw

Aren't the dashboards different between the Jimmy and the Chevy?? Differences: Nameplate above radio grille, bolt in swap. "Fuel" gauge vs "Gas" gague, as GMC might be diesel Amps has numbers with G

I've looked at these GMCs a lot in the junk yards and it appears to me that the entire front clip is different from the Chevy due to clearances needed for the GMC grill. So I think you would have to

I've got Chevy inner and outer fenders on my 52 GMC. I've compared the front sheet metal from my 53 GMC 150 parts truck, 53 Chevy 3100 parts truck, and the 49 Chevy fenders which were on my 52 GMC 1
