Hi Ryan, Shortening the frame to bring the wheel base into the spec's of the 1/2 ton is what you have to do now. You could also just get another long bed and weld the back of the frame to it's origin

That is my thought, too (what Billy stated). I suppose that if you are going to tub or notch the rear anyway, it doesn't really matter too much whether you cut a longbed frame or use a short frame.
