The rebuilt carb I recently got through my FLAPS had the input connection threads repaired with a heli-coil. The fitting seems to fit very well and I wrapped the threads with 3 or 4 wraps of teflon t

Two options (Two that I'm aware of...) First, return it and get a replacement. FLAPS generally have "much" experience with this on rebuilds... and it shouldn't be difficult. Second, the Heli-Coil "sh

Loctite PST is the best for all fluid sealing. I have seen hydraulic fittings put together finger tight only with PST and not leak. I wouldn't recommend this but it makes a good demonstration of the

Just a comment on the use of teflon tape....when I installed my dual Rochesters, I wrapped the fittings in tape. Everything worked fine for months and then the engine started running bad...would bare

Actually, do not use teflon tape on ANY system that could suffer from getting little pieces of tape in it, ie, carbs and your oil system! Small pieces WILL get into the fluid stream - usually litle

I've always used Permatex Thread Sealant (white stuff) if I have a leaker and it seems to work pretty good (but not perfect), even on my leaky Rochester's. I just think care needs to be taken to appl

most rodchesters have a round gasket to seal inlet to housing, if threads are bad, remove filter, seal with J>B> Weld, install external filter. Greg in Fla --Original Message-- From: tim <lloydt@Colo
