I am still having trouble lining up my short shaft water pump pulley with the crank pulley on my newly rebuilt 235. The distance from the outside of the engine block to the inside of the outer edge

I went out and measured one of my engines, a 55 2nd 235. It's 2 inches from block to back of crank pulley. Perhaps your short shaft pump is the problem. While I find it hard to believe that any after
