it sounds to me like the linkage doesn't have enough travel to open the park switch inside the motor. It may be that the motor can be turned slightly in it's bracket to give it the extra little bit

AhHa, we're narrowing it down! When you put the wipers back on install them so that they are about one half inch above the rubber along the bottom of the windshield, hopefully that will do it. -- Joh
