I just got a headlight switch from Chevy Duty, the one with the original knob. It isn't exactly like the original and I can't figure out how to remove the shaft with the knob (or if I'm susposed to?)

on the knob there is a little hexhead set screw that you must loosten then unscrew the knob then you can remove the nut that scres into the switch itself. i know this just because i had the same prob

I've seen that before, but this one has the original maroon knob (with the dot in the center) and it doesn't have a set screw. The shaft where the knob is on has threads, but it doesn't come off very

Didn't see the lead question here, BUT, most knobs don't come off the shaft, the whole shaft and knob assembly comes out together. Pull the knob out to the park light position and push a spring loade

depressing the spring will allow you to pull the knob out, all the way. then you can get the nut off and remove from dash. Claude was new oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 194
