I am installing a tilt column in my 56 P.U.and I need a 2' drop on the column. I have looked in all the catalogs and can only find chrome or stainless. I would like a steel one that can be painted. D

Larry, mine is polished aluminum - I wouldn't have a problem painting it if I wanted it to match something. I think I got mine from No Limit, but a lot of vendors sell aluminum column drops. Bob Welc

I think the original drop on a 55-59 is made of painted steel...and it's almost 2" if you don't install the rubber insulator between it and the column. You could probably do some minor cutting and we

i took a small block rod, cut it off a the required length, welded a bracket to the cut off end ,to mount to dash. rod cap to hold colum. painted black. looks good. Greg in Fla 56 short --Original Me
