I drilled mine out on a Bridgeport miller. I forget what size drill I used. Start with a small drill and open it up a little at a time if you don't have a miller, so you don't hit any metal in the li

I'm not sure if I did it the correct way but I ground off the peened end flush, then heated the ball with a torch and pounded it out. It didn't come out easy, but I was able to install the newer type
