Hi Guys, I have a '59 chevy 235 and I was told that I did not need to have an oil filter, that it was an option. Can anyone elaborate please? oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between

I'm not sure what year Chevrolet add the full flow oil filter to the side of the block, but I think it was 1960. Before that there was an accessory oil filter available that bolted to the intake man

I used a add on tranny filter kit for my 235 it uses a delco PF35 (works on virtually all chevy SBs and BBs) I think it cost $35 a few years ago. for my 270 I'm using the canister filter made by WIX
