Greetings All, I'm a new subscriber to this list and have just started autoxing this summer in C stock. I have a question for all you first generation RX-7 drivers (and anyone else who really wants t

Quick! Get a bigger front anti-roll bar before the rest of this list makes it illegal! Seriously, most RWD cars are loose and you're just going to have to learn to drive it. On many (but not all) cou

I can't see how. A car that can oversteer at will and can be made to stop oversteering at will is a joy to autocross. Best you usually can hope for is a car which has near-perfect balance in a conti

If that were only true. Most front-engine/rear-drive cars in stock form plow like farmers. In my experience, RX-7 cars are a happy exception. The engine sits well back and the overall mass distributi

I too run a 1st Gen RX7: The quick and dirty? Your tire pressure should be reversed. They way you are right now, an RX7, or any car, will induce oversteer. The RX7 is even more pronounced as the car

What you say may be true. But if he wants a quick and dirty solution, the tire pressure trick works. Had a friend here who has a GSL-SE, he did what CJ did, and his oversteer was horrendous. Went th

Yes. Not the way I play it. I know that some folks like to under-inflate the rears, but I hate the mushy, rubber-band transitions with this setup. I much prefer to OVER-inflate the rears to induce ov

This is almost the exact setup I used last year in CS. With that configuration I had a hard time getting the rear wheels to spin without doing something really, really stupid. The biggest difference

Is there such a thing as binding in the rear suspension of the first gen cars? Could this be his problem? Could the car be bottoming out? I run 2#'s less in the rear than the front. The actual press

It doesn't bottom out but the Watts linkages bind which has some adverse affect on the rear suspension alignment under cornering. The solution to that (in SP/P/Mod) is to replace the Watts linkages w

Not necessarily significant differential, but sufficient rear pressure. They may or may not be the same thing. The idea is to run the pressure in the fronts that give the front the most stick, then o
