The spacer part # is C2OZ-6265-A and it is on all small block engines before March of 1965. The March change includes a thicker thrust plate,.250" thick, and the spacer is molded into the new alumin

Ron's got it right! The 260 cam thrust plate is (was) .218 thick and the cam spacer is .221 thick. .003 is the camshaft endplay. The newer thrust plates that work with Cloyes and other cam gears is .
