- Any slack available inthe motor mounts? Maybe loosen them while you do what you did and then retighten after the shifter is centered? Just a guess...... RH

- I noticed this when I installed my 5 speed. I just bent the shifter to the right to compansate. I am using the original Sprite metal shift housing with the Datsun shift stick. I used a mapp gas hand
